The ideal place for your rural retreat

Caloola Retreat is located 30 kms south from Tuggeranong Town Centre, past Lanyon Homestead and Namadgi Visitors Centre.

With its 206 hectares of pristine, tranquil beauty situated near the Naas River and adjoining Namadgi National Park, Caloola Retreat is an ideal base for hiking through valleys and over hills. It is close to Brandy Flat and Mount Clear.

There is ample space for group activities, team games and an abundance of wildlife and birdlife on the property. Horse paddocks are available.

Conference Centre

The Conference Centre accommodates up to 50 people. Its facilities include:

  • A fully equipped kitchen with crockery and cutlery for self catering. Bring all your provisions for the duration of your stay as the closest convenience store is approximately 20 kms away at Tharwa which has limited operating hours. Lanyon shops are open evenings.

  • Pillow, pillowcase and fitted bedsheet are provided.

  • Firewood is provided during the winter months.

Farm house

Cost:
Up to 18 people $13.00 per person per night. Minimum stay, 2 nights. 19+ people $13.00 per person per night. Minimum stay, 2 nights. (Minimum cost $432.00)

Farm House

The Farm House accommodates up to 17 people.

Cost:
$13.00 per person per night. Minimum of 4 people. Minimum stay 2 nights.

Cottage

The Cottage accommodates up to 7 people.

Cost:
$13.00 per person per night. Minimum stay, 2 nights.

Camping

Camping at Caloola Available to groups (camping out). Situated next to river bank on high ground - equipped with water, hot shower, toilets and BBQ.

Please bring your own outdoor camping equipment.

Cost:
$3.00 per person per night.

Getting there

  • Travel south along Drakeford Drive, past Lanyon shops, over Murrumbidgee River at the Tharwa bridge.

  • Veer left and stay on bitumen road, passing Cuppacumbalong Homestead on the left.

  • Travel 11 kms and cross over Gudgenby River bridge.

  • Immediately turn left into Top Naas Road (gravel for 8 kms).

  • Follow road (through four grids) look for Caloola signs.

When travelling after dark watch out for kangaroos, wombats and wild pigs.
